Connect it to your mac, turn it on.

Open Disk Utility, click on View in the menubar

select Show All Devices.

Highlight the uppermost disk of the WD My Passport

not any indented Volume.

Click Erase.

Give the Disk a name,

Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Scheme: GUID Partition Map

Click Erase.

Once that is down your WD Passport is ready for use.

Do not install any WD software on the disk this

will interfere with the macs own management of the disk.
