Apple ID Verification came in Chinese

Really weird issue - I was trying to log into the Apple TV+ website on a Windows computer. It was the first time I was logging in, so I was expecting a two-factor authentication notification to come to my iPhone XR, which I got - but the weird thing is that I got the notification in Chinese. I feel like this is something to be concerned about, but I can't really make sense of this. Tried to look up similar issues, but other people have had issues where they get random notifications - this wasn't random, I was expecting the 2FA popup on my phone, it just happened to be in Chinese.

Some background info - my Macbook Pro was stolen almost 2 years ago, and when I got my current iPhone XR, the representative told me that there were recent logins to my iCloud account from Chinese email addresses.

Can anyone let me know if they've experienced something similar, or if I need to reset my account?

Hi rdayal7,

Thanks for reaching out through Apple Support Communities about this issue you experienced with your two-factor authentication verification code when signing into Apple TV+.

We're certainly glad to look into it with you and help in any way we can.

First, we want to share a great resource with the steps to verify your Apple ID is currently in use only on the trusted devices you have in your possession:

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

If you see any unwanted or unrecognized devices, be sure to remove them.

It's great that you've got two-factor authentication enabled. This security feature makes it so that any sign-in attempts with your Apple ID on a new device must be verified by you to succeed.

To further ensure the security of your Apple ID, we can recommend the following guide that includes steps to take If you think your Apple ID has been compromised.

You can manage the default language option for your Apple ID by signing into the Apple ID website directly here:
