Can’t see apple news plus tab in news app

Why can’t I see the apple news plus tab in the news app on my iPhone 11 running 13.5.1. It just shows a thumbs up and thumbs down and sideways arrow at the bottom of the screen when I open the app. I am on the apple news plus trial and can access the suggested apple news plus articles but can’t find where to browse, follow etc.
