Why does waking up take so long?

Hi,

I have an older Mac Pro and it still runs great. I recently did a fresh install of High Sierra (before I had El Capitan) and everything seems to work good and fast enough for my current needs However, the only issue I am noticing is that it takes about 10 seconds to wake up from the sleep mode. Before when I had El Capitan installed on the same computer it would wake up immediately when I touched either the mouse or keyboard. Now I get roughly a 10-15 second lag before it opens.

Anyway to resolve this?

Thanks!!

I suspect it's hibernating, execute this command in terminal...

pmset -g

Should see something like this...

System-wide power settings:

Currently in use:

 hibernatemode    0

 halfdim       1

 womp         1

 networkoversleep   0

sleep        0 (sleep prevented by FAHClient, mds_stores, configd, SecuritySpy)

 Sleep On Power Button 1

 ttyskeepawake    1

 hibernatefile    /var/vm/sleepimage

 autorestart     0

 disksleep      0

 displaysleep     0
