iPad disabled w/ no display.

My iPad (Model # A1954) is disabled w/ a black screen. Tried hard reset - no luck. When I connect to charger, I hear an audible "ding", but no image. Connected to computer, but since no iPad display, cannot unlock passcode (which I have), nor can I update to latest iTunes version. Any suggestions?
