What @BobTheFisherman is really trying to tell you is anti-virus software is not needed on a Mac and it usually causes more problems than it solves plus it impacts system performance. These forums are full of posts where anti-virus has caused all sorts of issues preventing the normal operation of macOS and user's apps.
FYI, while I liked the old Norton products back in the 90's the quality of this software has severely deteriorated over the years where you couldn't pay me to use it on Windows (if I still used Windows) much less letting Symantec products or any other anti-virus software touch a Mac.
@BobTheFisherman is hinting that you should uninstall Symantec from your Mac by following the developer's instructions and not worry about the future of Symantec (or any other AV app) on macOS beyond Catalina.

Thanks. I have Norton apps that were free with my XFINITY service. I will delete them.
You will be much better off in my opinion. While there are lots of good free stuff out there, this definitely isn't one of them especially for a Mac. The only people that really need to be concerned about having anti-virus software installed are Windows users (perhaps Android users too) and with more recent versions of Windows even that is not as necessary these days as it was years ago. The anti-virus market on Windows is nothing but a huge mess these days that there isn't one single product I would recommend. Most Windows users are better off using the built-in Windows anti-virus software. Several of the anti-virus vendors have been bought out by others so one company may be selling two or three different apps under different names. Plus many of the "free" versions come with ads, or required "free" subscriptions to sell your personal information. Plus many of the anti-virus apps are collecting & selling your personal information if not more. And these are from what used to be considered good & legitimate apps.
Just practice safe computing habits by being careful with the websites you visit and the links you click on (verify the links by hovering over the link so you can see the URL it will load). Also be careful with links in emails even if sent from a trusted friend or family member. Minimize the third party apps you download & install and do careful research before installing third party apps to make sure they are legitimate and safe. If you do end up with malware on your system, then run MalwareBytes to remove it. The free version needs to be run manually to perform a scan so it doesn't impact system performance.

Why are you running Symantec?
Who cares and why?
My apologies. The reference is to legacy systems which may or may not be supported post-Catina, of which Symantec may or may not be one.

Same place they have always been with macOS: lost without a clue.
Rule 1 of Macs is don't install junk.
