Dreadful Apple Notes Glitch

In one second, it was all gone.

4 years of notes, all "safely" stored on Apple's very own Notes application.

I have the prized MacBook Air, the most up-to-date software, and plentiful iCloud and hard drive space -- everything Apple recommends for the "best user experience."

And yet: I launched notes, created a new note, and... then something glitched and instantaneously all the notes disappeared. They weren't in "Recently Deleted," I couldn't find them in iCloud, Time Machine, Finder's library, or any other accessible place on my Mac. I've got relatives who work in IT, and though we often disagree, here's one thing we agreed upon: the notes were not coming back, ever.

Glitches happen, and sometimes things are lost. It's a tradeoff for the tremendously convenient life that technology has brought us. But over the last 4 years, I accumulated a colossal tower of passcodes, professional documents, family memories, and everything else I deemed noteworthy. The tower collapsed, and now I feel almost bare.

There's no purpose in berating Apple. But I wanted to let this community know that I'll be using Google Drive and Microsoft OneNote from now on, and I recommend that you do the same, lest a similar thing happen to you. Please, put your life's documents in a place you can genuinely trust.

Thank you.
