capitalization 7th generation issue

When typing I know my iPad 7th generation automatically puts a capital letter after a “.” and a space. No problem. But with the latest OS upgrade it is driving me nut. If I delete a letter the new character is replaced with a capital letter. Anyone know how to fix this? It’s driving me nuts! Thanks.

Auto-capitalisation in iPadOS 13.4.1 and later, if enabled, does appear to be somewhat erratic in its application.

At this time, there doesn’t appear to be an available workaround short of disabling Auto-Capitalisation:

Settings > General > Keyboard > Auto-Capitalisation - set to OFF

I suggest that you document any difficulties you experience - and submit feedback to Apple using the appropriate feedback page:
