PC Trade in For MacBook Air

Hello, I was wondering if I’d be able to trade in my HP Pavilion X360 14 Touch laptop to get money or credit towards purchasing the latest MacBook Air model. But the only issue is that the hard drive is broken, and I am unable to start up the computer to wipe it. Would I still be able to trade the laptop in without a hard drive in it? Let alone would I still get credit or money towards getting my new laptop If the hard drive isn’t in there?
