Drag or resize window issues

Have a Mid 2011 imac 2.8 that is having issue with moving any windows or resizing, and also double clicking issues where I have to repeat pointer mouse clicks. I was told it might be the HD so I replacd it with a new 2T SSD. Still having issues. Ideas? Thanks

OK! We have liftoff! I had to go find the original mouse that came with the computer and after installing new batteries all windows move correctly as they should. I went on mixed programs and photos and all seemed to work just fine. I guess I didn't need to upgrade my hard drive but that will turnout to be a good thing anyway and the other plus is I cleaned out the dusty inside circuit boards and fans. Thanks so much for your ideas and assistance. Another job well done Mac/Apple Community !

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Thanks for the reply on Safe Mode". Tried it and NO change and no change on rebooting back to normal. This also affects normal operations with moving icons or windows as well as in programs, third party or Apple products. Dragging something on the desktop will cause the item to freeze/stop after just a few inches (random) times when it freezes. Also windows acts differently and not all repeat the same issues each time. The new hard drive works faster due to being a SSD I guess, but continues the issues the old drive had. Startup and reboot works fine each time, shut down also seems fine. Sometimes when dragging a window it will expand to max size and trying to resizing it takes time to "catch" a good spot to make it move at all. This all started a few months back. No new programs or apps added. Everything's the same except the new HD last week. But same results. I was told to try and go into Mission Control and turn off everything but to now avail.
