Dissolve / editing clip

When I apply a dissolve to a clip, then click A, I can easily change the duration of the dissolve but can't seem to find a way to change the duration of the clip. Is there a modifier key, etc. to help with this? My work around is to delete transition, adjust clip length, add back dissolve, repeat.

The parallel hashmarks on the top left of the transition will allow you to adjust the length of the outgoing clip (red lines). The parallel hashmarks on the top right (yellow) will allow you to adjust the length of the incoming clip. These are shortcuts.





If you double click on the "bowtie" icon (cyan arrow), you will get dropped into the "Precision Editor" and you will be able to accurately control every aspect of a transition:
