software quit unexpectantlysince catalina upgrade

software issue of unexpectedly closing if I try to use any menu options like save, open etc. any advice would be welcome.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Not sure what software in Catalina would be the issue, unless older third-party?

(32-bit is automatically disabled, so that'd not be likely cause of this matter)


Anyway, you could try start in Safe mode ~ then troubleshoot. After you try

various ideas, in between try 'normal re start' ~ so Safe would then be Off.


With full-system on, that could help determine if your effort was successful.

You may need try re-install -or- use macOS Utilities in Recovery to repair OS.
