I currently have an iphone 6s that I bought from At&t with their prepaid phone plan. If I buy the Xr from Apple without any carriers attached, can I put my old SIM card in and turn the Xr into a prepaid phone? Will the SIM even fit?

In most countries an unlocked phone direct from Apple will just activate with the old SIM.
