What kind of thunderbolt hub do I need for a new Macbook Pro

I am buying a new MacBook Pro but need USB ports what kind of hub should I get

Presumably you mean USB-A ports as the MBP has USB-C ports.


The minimalist approach is a USB-C to USB-A dongle:

USB-C to USB Adapter


If you have "heavy" I/O needs, you can "move up" to a very nice unit from CalDigit which will also charge your MBP.

CalDigit TS3 Plus Dock


There are lots of products on the market; USB-C / Thunderbolt-3 provides a lot of alternatives to meet your needs.

There is an optional cord for use with Apple power adapters, to replace

the toggle end "duck-head" portion of the AC input; that is removed to

make use of extension cable. It custom fits most similar Apple adapters.

An Apple source may have them in stock, OR be able to order those.

Most of mine were way below retail, found in second-hand store bins.
