Duplicate Sent Emails

I am having an issue with the apple mail app on my Mac where sent emails are being stored twice in my sent box. I have seen fixes for this before on the apple community such as below:


"1. Launch Mail app

2. Select the Mail preferences from the Mail Menu Bar

3. Click the Accounts tab

4. Highlight your Hotmail account

5. Click Mailbox Behaviors

6. Uncheck "Store sent messages on the server"

7. Close the Mail preferences and send a test message

You can see additional Mailbox Behaviors preferences"


However, with the current Mac update 'macOS Catalina v10.15.6' the mail preferences does not have this checkbox to solve the issue.


I would appreciate any advice on this matter as I'm sure you can appreciate my frustration.

We understand you are experiencing an issue with duplicate emails in your Sent mailbox.


Can we ask, does the issue occur when using the web portal of your email service provider? Additionally, is your account setup as a POP or IMAP account?


If it is a POP account, we would recommend removing the mail account and re-adding it as an IMAP account. You can learn how to do so here: Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac.


If it is setup as an IMAP account, we would recommend removing the mail account and re-adding it as an Exchange account.
