notifications

I turned off the sound notifications for mail in system preferences, but my computer still makes noise when I get an email. help please.

ALL the notifications are turned off to every app. The curious thing is that in notifications when I click on Mail, there is no option to check or uncheck like other apps to "play sound for notifications". where is the whoosh sound in my email? When I send an email now, I get dead silence. I want the whoosh back. Did Apple do something so that all Mac owners are equally affected? It is beyond me how to fix it. They say go to settings, I can't find settings. They say go to notifications, I can't find notifications. Turn off email notification sound I keep getting a email notification sound every time my inbox is updated (which happens about twice every minute). I have a bunch of filters that archive some emails immediately, but I still get a notification (WITH SOUND) every time I receive an email. I've updated my notification settings to turn off the sound for email notifications. (I would actually like to keep it for emails that DO end up in my inbox) Even with this setting though I still hear the sound for all emails that end up in my inbox and for the ones that get archived. Because I cannot turn off the sound I'm unable listen to music or do anything on my Macbook that requires sound since I am getting this notification ALL. THE. TIME. I really would like to know how I can stop these notifications. Please help.

Hi,

Restart the MacBook Air or resetting NVRAM could solve the issue.
