Numpad is only half showing when approving extra time (parental control)

We're using parental control on our childrens iPads. When the maximum time has expired, we can provide extra time (amongs other ways) via entering the PIN on the on screen numeric pad.


When the iPad is in horizontal mode, only part of the numpad is shown. In vertical mode it looks fine. We can fix the issue by going to vertical and back to horizontal, since it is then shown correctly even horizontal. But still... it is a bug and is getting more annoying since we expected that it would already be known and fixed. ;-)


I've added a screen shot, but the numbers are missing from it. They were shown on screen. Only the lower part of the numpad was visible.


Does anyone have a solution? Or can someone report this to Apple so that it can be fixed?

Have you already tried a forced restart of that iPad?:

  • iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.
  • iPad models with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.
