How do I lock my screen so I can backup my phone

If you are talking about automatic backups with iCloud, the requirements are...

  • Plug into power to charge.
  • Connect to WiFi.
  • Lock the screen.


Lock the screen simply means to put the device to sleep. You can do that using a set time in the auto lock settings or manually lock the screen by tapping the power button. The power button is also called the sleep button.


You can also manually backup in Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Apps using iCloud>iCloud backup>On>Backup now.
