Thunderbolt 2 eGPU?

Hi everyone,

I use a mac mini (2014 i7 16gb) on a daily basis, its a great little machine, but not in the graphics department, I would like to use an old gtx 670 I had with a thunderbolt eGPU enclosure, but it seems as its only thunderbolt 3, and the mac is tb2. Is there any way to get it to work? I've heard tb2 does support the speeds required for an eGPU,.. maybe an adaptor or a different enclosure?

appreciating any support/links!

thanks!

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

egpu and well gpu in general main focus is 3d modeling so 2d stuff will not benefit much

As mentioned open-source 3rd party software is required. Apple does not provide native TB2 support themselves.

Most RX 560 brands would work (I've used an RX 460 with a 2015 Macbook Air) but the RX 570 is a lot better unless limiting power consumption is a high priority.

Also your old GTX 670 might work, since MacOS does have Keplar drivers. If you already have that card it wouldn't hurt to give it a try before ordering something newer.
