Capekids,

Thank you for replying back with the updated information around what steps you have taken to resolve the issue. We understand that your device is showing as connected to Wi-Fi but without a connection to the Internet.

Try these steps, testing for the issue after each step.

Check to see if there are any VPN apps that are installed by tapping Settings > General > VPN: Use VPN on iPhone

In Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the “I” next to the network name. If the IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, the device's access to the internet is limited by a self-assigned IP. Restarting a modem and router can help to resolve this.

If the device doesn’t have a self-assigned IP, we’d advise verifying the settings at Settings > General > Date and Time are set correctly.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Hi there Capekids,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

It sounds as though after an update your iPhone is not able to connect to a home Wi-Fi network. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

We understand that you have reset the device back to factory settings to resolve the issue and the issues persist. To verify, after resetting the device back to factory settings did you try connecting to the Wi-Fi network after setting up the device as new?

Setting up a device as new after resetting to factory settings can help to further isolate an issue.
