iPod Touch stopped playing audio but still charges in car

Hey all,

So I have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen. This afternoon my iPod stopped playing audio in my car but kept charging the iPod. I connect through the USB cable to my JVC stereo. I have disconnected and tried again. I have rebooted the iPod. No matter what I do it doesn't reconnect to my stereo. The headphone jack works fine when it's connected to the stereo, when before it wouldn't because the stereo had taken it over.

Any thoughts?

Could be iOS 4 playing havoc with your stereo. Initially iOS 4 worked with my factory Honda stereo (better than 3.x did) but then one day odd things started to happen -- albums or playlists would re-start at the beginning when re-starting the car, occasional "unsupported" error, displaying the wrong song, etc.

So, even though iOS 4 may have worked initially, sometimes software does wonky things.

Thanks man, the problems have all been since I went up to OS4. Do you know if there's anyway to roll back?

I was able to on my 2G Touch, went back to 2.2.1 since that's what works best in my Honda Fit. See my post here:
