Is there a way to get information on Mutual Funds and ETF using stock quote in numbers?

I'm currently using MS Office 365 (Excel) and trying to use Web Query to get mutual fund and ETF performance data like YTD, 1 year, 3 year, 5 year and 10 year performance. But having issues since I'm using an iMac.

Is there a way to get information on Mutual Funds and ETF using stock quote in numbers?

Or is there a way to use Web Query (Power Query) in Numbers?

Are you using Excel or Numbers? This is the area for Numbers for Mac.

For Excel you may want to explore the Stocks data type in addition to Web Query. In Excel Help search for stock. For more help you'll of course need to study the Microsoft site and/or go to the various Excel discussion boards.

Numbers gets its data from Yahoo! Finance. Many Mutual Fund and ETF symbols will work.

However, as you probably already know, 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year performance are not available in the STOCK and STOCKH functions.

No, Numbers does not directly support something like Web Queries. It is sometimes feasible to use a script to retrieve data, but that varies by website.

On 1. In Numbers File > Open navigate to the Excel file and choose it.

On 2. Possibly via script, as explained. But a lot more details required.

Hello,

So you said that Numbers gets its data from Yahoo! Finance. Many Mutual Fund and ETF symbols will work.

I have both Excel (MS Office 365) for the iMac and of course I have Numbers.

I'm having issues using Web Query with Excel (Power Query), so I want to try Numbers.

So:

  1. How can I import my Excel Spreadsheet into Numbers?
  2. How can I get Mutual Fund and ETF performance data ( YTD, 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, 10 year returns) from Yahoo Finance using Numbers?
