how do i name my apple pencil 1st generation?

I just bought an iPad Air and a 1st generation apple pencil. I also bought a bluetooth device finder app - to help me locate the pencil in case i lose it. It would be great if I could set a name for my pencil.

I don't believe there is any practical way to do that even though Apple Pencil uses bluetooth for connection.
