how to clear cache
does the community use software to assist regular clearing of cache and general clean up. I used Disk Cleanup Pro with Yosemite. I now have a Mac with Catalina. Does is clean up cache automatically ?

There is no need to regularly clear the caches. There wasn't a need to do so in Yosemite.
You can boot into Safe Mode which will clear some system caches, but they'll just have to be recreated which will slow down your Mac while it does so.
