Assigning Faces/People to Videos

What’s the best process to assign Faces in Photos, either on Mac or IOS, to videos which contain multiple people, but not all people are in a single frame. I have a ton a videos where I want to tag 10 people, but don’t just want to create a random “circle” on the thumbnail and assign the persons. I wish Apple would take videos, and just allows us to list who is in them, rather than just rely on the thumbnail.

On the Mac I open a video, advance the video to a frame, where I can see the face of the person clearly, then open the Info with ⌘i and click the "+" to add a faces circle and name the person.

This will add the face to the People album of the person. On the other frames the circles will not be in the right position, but I don't mind, as long as I can find the clip in the People album.
