macOS will not download

I was trying to upgrade from 10.13 t0 10.15. But it would not download after clicking download in the app store. Nothing happened. It just showed downloading and below that calculating. But after waiting overnight to download, I contacted Apple for support. After several tries the here was what worked for us.

Set up a new administrator

Using the new administrator download and install 10.14

Then download and install 10.15
