Two phones, same icloud, same camera roll but want separate camera rolls

Hi, so my mom and i share the same icloud. a while ago we used to not have the same camera roll but then randomly one day our camera rolls linked together. how do i separate them without turning off the icloud sharing? if i turn off icloud sharing will it not be able to save my photos into the icloud?
