Overheating

My new Macbook air gets EXTREMELY hot whenever I need to stream a video or have my camera on, which is everyday for my now virtual graduate degree. What do I do? I bought a stand to elevate it but that doesn't seem to help.

If it is less than 2 days old I would wait one more day because it is indexing spotlight which will make your MacBook Air's fans turn up for a bit. If it is still overheating, I would follow these steps: How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support. If it is still overheating I would take it to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and tell them that it was overheating and that you would like a replacement. Note that you can only return it within 14 days of the purchase date.

HoPe this helps :)
