Which password does iTunes need? (laptop, new ipad, old ipad password, or appleID password)?

It sounds like you are trying to restore your iPad from an iTunes backup but it's asking for a password. When iTunes asks for a password while restoring from a backup, this most likely means the backup is encrypted. This is a password that was created at time of the first backup to the computer, this password could be any password you chose at that time.
