I am using Apple Music, loving it. However I have a problem when I use it in my car (using apple carplay). Please see attached screenshot. As you can see the interface offers me the option to "add this song to my library". But the strange thing is that it is already in my library.
Do more people have this problem?

From reading your post, it appears when songs are playing using Apple CarPlay, the displaying shows Add to Library, correct? We're here to help you take a look into that!
First, let's force close the Apple Music app and restart the iPhone:

Disconnect and reconnect to Apple CarPlay:

Ensure all the tracks are downloaded to the Apple Music library:
Add and download music from Apple Music or buy music from the iTunes Store

Thanks for your reply. I have followed all your steps, but the problem remains. I have debugged it and let's focus on two tracks which are both in my library.
As said before, both songs are in my library. But while playing through CarPlay, with the first song, the "add to library" appears. This does not happen to the second song (ben folds). Please see attached screenshots.

Off course I have Apple Music iCloud sync enabled.

If you try removing and re-adding Fun Lovin' Criminals, does it continue to say add to library:
Delete music, movies, and TV shows from your device
Add and download music from Apple Music or buy music from the iTunes Store
Double check to make sure softwares are capable and verify if the Apple CarPlay doesn't require an update. Make sure the iPhone is up-to-date and backup to iCloud or iTunes:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
