Apps checked for misleading or fake news?

While searching for an app to follow the DNC convention, I came across one called "Democratic Election 2020", a news app whose first revision was "Fixed icon to represent the correct party." The developer is Electrifying Ventures. Is this app legit???

  1. "Democratic Election 2020" sounds like a title created by Putin's minions.
  2. They couldn't get the icon for the correct party on the first try?
  3. The developer hasn't posted a Republican app.
  4. "Electrifying Ventures" sounds like its primary purpose is disruption.

How can I tell if it's just another source of disinformation? Does Apple check their apps for fake or misleading "news" sources?

Apple determines if an app violates the rules of the App Store, it doesn't determine if the app is providing you real or fake news. That is for you to determine.
