Unable to Remove Locked Email Account from iPhone

However, there is an email account that I have on my iPhone that I have been locked out of and no longer need to use. When I tap on the account to try to remove it, it says I need to re-enter my password to the account in order to access the "Delete Account" option. Ask the mail provider or look at their support site.
