You can not buy storage for your device but you can buy iCloud Storage, which is Apple's cloud storage service.

You might find it useful to save original photos and videos on the cloud while keeping them in low resolution on your phone. This saves space on your phone.
Use iCloud Photos and turn on Optimise Storage.
