So I’ve been dealing with this for over a month, it’s stuck at 1x mode. When I try to do wide angle or 2x mode it doesn’t switch, on videos sometimes I’ll get the wide angle, never photos.

Make sure that your environment has sufficient lighting, as the telephoto lens (2x lens) uses a higher focal length and is dependent on a bright surrounding. If the modes still do not change, schedule an appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
