Sim card

I am sending my new SE 11 in to get a screen replaced and I have T-mobil sim card and I have I-phone 8 from AT&T but I the phone from AT&T dose not like the sim card from T-Mobil I own the phone from AT&T?

Maybe the phone is locked to AT&T?
