My phone number is not connected to my iMessages I need to speak with someone

My iPhone messages are coming from my iCloud not allowing me to connect to my phone number

My mobile phone number no longers shows for messages on ipad. Yesterday, I did an update for the ipad 11. Today all of my imessages are from the icloud account. When I go to Settings, messages, send and receive, my phone number is no longer an option. The only options I have are my gmail account and my icloud account. How can I fix this so my phone number is an option for send and receive messages on my ipad?

If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
