Headphone jack adapter for selfie stick

I got an adapter, Lightening Jack Adaptor Connector, to use to connect my iPhone SE 2020 to an older, wired selfie stick, but it doesn’t work. It will work with headphones, just not selfie stick. Is there a special jack adapter that will work?
