The operation cant be completed because the original item for "downloads" cant be found

My downloads folder has been missing for a while now and it cannot be located. I recently got a new computer and was hoping the problem will be fixed but I now get that message instead. Any ideas on how to fix it?

The Downloads folder is normally included in macOS by default, but if for some reason it has gone missing you can simply create another one.

It normally resides at

~/Downloads

If that doesn't make any sense to you, click anywhere on your Mac's Desktop, then select the Finder's Go menu > Home. A Finder window will open. If you do not see a folder in it named Downloads, then select the Finder's File menu > New Folder. A folder named untitled folder will appear. To rename it type Downloads, hit the Return key, and you're finished.
