Sound notifications on iPhone not Bluetooth headset

I have a Bluetooth headset constantly paired/connected. This means that my sound notifications come though my headset not on my iPhone. I’ve failed to find how to make the sounds play on the iPhone, not through the headset when connected to Bluetooth. I wouldn’t even mind it it was both (!) but I miss calls and texts because it’s only playing through my Bluetooth headphones. I don’t want my headphones in my ear all day!

I have an 11 Pro with the latest IOS updates.

Any advice gratefully accepted. TIA.

The only thing that comes to my mind is to turn off your BT headset when you don't use it.
