I have iCloud back up where can I find a text message I accidentally deleted?
This is for my iPhone X I see there is a new iOS update, should I update the device 1st?
Message history is set to forever & I just did an iCloud backup but do not know where to go to find the deleted text message 😐

Do you have Messages in iCloud enabled? If so, messages are not in your backup.
If they are in a backup, you can't extract them from a backup. You must restore the backup to your device.
