keep libraries separate during consolidating?

I have multiple iTunes libraries on my Windows 10 system. One is lossless for playing on my home stereo, the second is highly compressed music for use with my 128GB iphone and my 128GB iPod (this is a subset of my larger lossless library with about 1/3 of my music), and the third library is a lightly compresses version of all my music for my 256gb iPod and iPad.

I have gone through a lot of effort setting up all 3 libraries and need to keep them separate.

Now I intend to copy my 2 compressed libraries to my macbook to use for syncing the iDevices.

All the articles I have read say step 1 is to check "Allow itunes to keep things organized" and then to "copy files to my media folder".

I am afraid this will end up adding all versions into a single library screwing up my library.

How can I safely move my 2 compressed libraries to the macbook without screwing up individual libraries.

Hey there pajacobs,

We understand you have a question about moving your iTunes library to another computer, and we'd like to share some information that can help.

Check out this resource for more information: Move your iTunes library to another computer

Specifically, we'd like to call attention to the detail below:

"You can consolidate all the files in your library in the iTunes folder to make it easier to move your library to a new computer."

The consolidation step is only to aid in the ease of content transfer, and doesn't need to be completed.

We hope this helps!
