Is iPhone X without face of fake

Hello i saw an iphone X yesterday without face id andd it was cheaper than the one with face id.So ii want to ask that is it possible that an iphone X doesnt have face id .Is it fake?

As far as I'm aware, there is no such thing as an iPhone X without Face ID
