iPhone XS fell into the pool

My IPhone XS fell into the pool yesterday. I picked it up and the podcast on the speaker continued. I inferred that the phone was okay and went to plug it in to charge when I went to bed. The phone warned that moisture had been detected and wouldn't allow it to be plugged in. It's still working but the female charge area now has a barrier that won't allow me to plug in a charge plug. I turned it off and stuck it in rice. It's been like that for about ten hours now. Barrier is still in place. Any suggestions or direction would be most appreciated.
