Making your Iphone ring louder

I was looking for a way to make my iphone 11 ring louder. I got the usual answer to "press the left upper button of my phone" to increase the ring. That was okay to an extent but the ring was not loud enough. Neither did it get louder by going into Settings> Sounds & Haptics> Ringer and Alerts. I am reposting the question for future info seekers.

What resolved my problem was turning off a feature called, "Attention Aware Features". Got to Settings> Face ID & Passcode > Enter your Passcode> scroll down to Attention Aware Features. Turn it off. Your rings will get louder. Attention Aware Features is described as "iPhone will check for attention before dimming the display, expanding a notification when locked, or lowering the volume of some alerts."
