wifi or wlan

recently bought an iphone 11 and the wifi of this unlike my previous iphone is called WLAN. I would love to be able to change it but there is no option

Hi agos289,

Thank you for clarifying.

Certain elements of iPhone differ depending on the region they are sold in.

For this particular region, WLAN is the terminology used, and therefore cannot be changed to Wi-Fi.

The functionality is the same as Wi-Fi so it should continue to function as expected.

We understand you'd like to change your network setting from WLAN to Wi-Fi.

To clarify, WLAN and Wi-Fi are the same in functionality.

Can we ask, did this option change recently, or has it been this way since purchasing the phone?

If it has always been this way, can we ask, which country was the phone purchased in?

Additionally, which version of software is your device running? You can check by going to: Settings > General > About > Software Version.

Once we have more clarity of the issue, the community may be able to provide further guidance.

hi teddy. I bought this cell phone a few days ago and it always had that Wi-Fi configuration.
The cell phone was bought in China but I am from Argentina.
the software version is iOS 13.6.1
