it tells me enter my password for my other phone and not this one

tryin to retrieve info from icloud and I get message to enter my password from my old phone and not this one

New Apple device asking for password from old device My new phone won’t update because it keeps asking for my old phones password which I kept the same so both my old phone and new one home have the same Apple ID and same password but it will not allow me to get past it. It was suggested that I allow this device to get authenticated through another device well I’m new to Apple so what are those steps ??? Why won’t my new phone simply update and transfer my old stuff to my new phone and why won’t it simply allow itself to update? This is really way way too hard and frustrating the hell out of me fml I’m so angry
