iPhone getting Safari not connect to server

When I am trying to open a file on my iPhone 8 in safari, I keep getting a message that safari can’t connect with the server.

This seems to be a new problem and usually when I am opening something within an email.

Any ideas?

Is it maybe a work website that can only be reached while being connected to a corporate VPN?

Try the following:

  • Airplane mode on then off Navigate to Settings, then slide Airplane Mode to On, wait a few seconds, then slide it back to Off. It seems that discontinuing and restarting the EDGE and WiFi components in the iPhone can restore connectivity.
  • Reset network settings Tap Settings, tap General, tap Reset, tap Reset Network Settings. This will cause your iPhone to restart, and will delete any stored Wi-Fi passwords as well as DNS settings and more. It can restore your ability to join a stubborn wireless network, let you access stalled Web pages, or eliminate issues with EDGE data access that can occur for various reasons.
  • Reboot your iPhone Hold down the home and sleep buttons simultaneously until you see the white Apple logo, indicating that your iPhone has restarted.

I have the same issue since updating my iPhone X to 13.6.1. Some attempts to go to webpages from Twitter, as well as opening safari and typing a known good website on connection I know is good (other apps work fine). These arent work websites and I’ve ilalso had the problem typing names into the address bar, which should cause a google search but instead gets a black screen. Force close of safari usually cures, but this is extremely annoying.
