Logitech mouse won't connect

I tried this Logitech m535 mouse with my MacBook and it wouldn't connect. it would say connection unsuccessful and only show up on the connection screen on bluetooth or mouse preferences every once in awhile. used my school Chromebook and it instantly recognized it and connects. the mouse works great with my windows laptop too. someone please help.

It seems your mouse requires some particularly specific way to connect to a Mac and use it's various functions requires extra "Logitech Options"
