Merge 2 Apple ID

I wondering if it’s possible to merge my old Apple ID with the newer one I had created with my new email? I have purchases on my old account that I would like transferred to my new Apple ID

Merge Apple IDs, as in close one and transfer to the other. After over a decade of giving us all Me.com and later iCloud.com emails is it really true that we still have not been giving the ability to close our old Apple ID accounts and transfer those purchases to our new accounts? My original Apple ID is an old work email and I want to close that account and transfer my considerable amount of purchased music, movies, etc., to my regular Apple ID and it seems that Apple still has not solved this for the thousands asking the same question. Is this truly the case?

You can't merge Apple IDs. You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs.
