Right AirPod making a high pitched sound.

My right AirPod makes a constant high pitched sound. The second I take it out of the case and put it in my ear, the high pitched sound is there. I tried to put it close to my left ear to see if it was just my ear, but then I could hear high pitched ringing in my left ear so I know this is an issue with the AirPod. I tried connecting it to different devices, but each time, my right AirPod makes a high pitched ringing noise. How do I get rid of this?

Hi Ndianxksofgnsjwox,

It sounds like that right AirPod is giving you feedback or noise when used. That would prompt us to seek a solution, see if these suggestions help to solve it:

  1. If your left or right AirPod isn't working
  2. Turn off Noise cancellation and/or Transparency mode if they either are enabled, then test it out once more. Here's how to do this: AirPods Pro Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode
  3. Try different ear tips: Choose your AirPods Pro ear tips and use the Ear Tip Fit Test
  4. Ensure any iOS device paired with these AirPods are up to date, since these updates will also update the AirPods firmware. Learn how to back up and get up to date on your iOS device here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  5. Clean your AirPods and test it once more: How to clean your AirPods and EarPods Don't forget to clean inside of the charging case.

If it continues after those steps and testing it out, let us know if disabling the Noise cancellation and/or Transparency mode helped in any way. Also, tell us if you were using an up to date iOS device with these AirPods.

Take care!
